01 Jan 2025
North Darfur State - Al-Fashir Locality
Alrayan for Social Development Organization implemented an activity to treat Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) as part of its efforts to improve the nutritional status of the most vulnerable groups, including children aged 6–59 months and Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW).
The activity was carried out through 32 nutrition centers across the localities of Altina, Um Baru, Kutum/Alwaha, Kabkabiya, Alsereif, and Saraf Omra, in partnership with SAHARI and RSD, and in close coordination with the Ministry of Health.
The intervention included the distribution of Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food (RUSF) to eligible beneficiaries in accordance with the Ministry of Health's treatment protocols. Eligibility criteria included children with a Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) of 115–125 mm or a Weight-for-Height Z-score (WHZ) between -3 and -2, contributing to improved nutritional recovery and reducing the risks associated with moderate acute malnutrition.
